Investigation of Water Absorption and Color Change of Indirect Composite Resins

Purpose:Since conventional composite resins have some disadvantages such as polymerization shrinkage and secondarycaries formation, indirect restorations are preferred in cases where tooth tissue loss is high. The aim of this study toexamine the water absorption color change different beverages.Materials & Methods:In study, 40 specimens (10×2 mm) were arranged from each using three indirect(Signum Composite, Signum Ceramis Gradia Plus) one (GrandioSO) resin. After thespecimens polished, they used for test. test wasperformed through keeping them 7 days specified ISO 4049:2009. Samples kept coffee, tea anddistilled order to examine differences. values thecomposite at end 7th day appraised one-way analysis variance (ANOVA) Tukey’s test(p<0.05).Results:While there was no statistically considerable difference between data andtraditional resin materials we (p>0.05). When changes resin-containingcomposites water, coffee examined, traditional showed lesscolor than composites (p<0.05).Conclusion:Although similar with composite, theyshowed more composite. highest seen incoffee solution. Particle size do not affect absorption, but decrease particle ofcomposites shows less change.
